Inclusive nutrition: embracing diversity!
Inclusive nutrition refers to a nutritional approach that aims to address the diverse needs and preferences of all individuals, regardless of their age, gender, socioeconomic status, geographical origin, cultural background, health status, (epi)genetic or any other factors that may influence their access or (behavioural or metabolic) responses to food. Inclusive nutrition also recognizes that people have different dietary requirements, metabolic responses, preferences, and cultural traditions, and are depending on different food systems, therefore, a one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition may not be effective or equitable.
